I know. I know. I KNOW. It's been a week since I last sent a DJ. But I promise, I have a good excuse. I've been working like a maniac. In fact, we had to do something we've never done before - hire a babysitter to pick Jude up from school, take him home, feed him dinner, and put him to bed. We didn't see him for 24 hours!

I know, I know. I've been delinquent as of late. Lindsay and I had a very rare (and very gluttonous feeling) weeknight date. Hence, no picture and hence, a HORRIBLE night for Jude last night. We really thought he'd be a complete mess today, but this evening he was full of smiles and giggles. Go figure.

Jude got his very own Brobee doll yesterday. It flaps it's arms and asks if anyone will dance with him. Yesterday, it was the most amazing thing Jude had ever seen. Today it was just weird and annoying.

While playing at the mall, we ran into friends Mardi and Will. Will is four and LOVES Jude. They climbed the red convertible together and gave us all a little flash forward to 13 years from now.

Mommy brought home a special treat - Chicago-style popcorn! For those not in the know, that's caramel, cheese, and plain popcorn all mixed together. Yum! Can you guess which ones Jude picked out first? Yup. According to Jude the caramel ones are "cookies."

Jude has recently discovered the "Hold Still" song from Yo Gabba Gabba and has insisted we play it as a family for the past two nights in a row. Watching Jude wigglewigglewiggleGO! Is almost as hysterical as watching him holllllld stiiiiiill (especially while he's trying to hold pink ball, purple car, and purple bus).

The Daily Jude 11/6/11

Jude decided today that he likes hats. At least, as long as they are monster hats that HE picked out. Actually, he likes his monster hat A LOT. Like so much that he wore it all through Target (with the coordinating mittens still attached to the top) and all evening. The only way we got him to take it off was by telling him the monster needed to sleep downstairs. Also, he got a new purple bus and he's in love.

Crunchy Leaves!

We normally have a terribly time trying to keep Jude awake after ECFE on Saturday afternoons.  For some reason, the class is scheduled from 11-1, prime toddler nap time.  Keeping Jude awake in the car on the way home was a breeze...he was still riding his high from playing in the crunchy leaves.  

Because we live in a relatively new neighborhood, there aren't a lot of old trees that just drench the ground in fall color.  So when we came out of the school parking lot and saw that the grass was covered with at least 3" of bright yellow leaves.  So we had some family frolicking in the crunchy leaves.  

Jude loved throwing the leaves up in the air and watching the wind carry them away.  

You have to wear your Indiana hoodie when you are playing in the leaves!  My little Midwestern boy!
